Overview

Assam is a state in northeastern India known for its wildlife, archeological sites and tea plantations. In the west, Guwahati, Assam’s largest city, features silk bazaars and the hilltop Kamakhya Temple. Umananda Temple sits on Peacock Island in the Brahmaputra river. The state capital, Dispur, is a suburb of Guwahati. The ancient pilgrimage site of Hajo and Madan Kamdev, the ruins of a temple complex, lie nearby. Meghalaya, state of India, located in the northeastern part of the country. It is bounded by the Indian state of Assam to the north and northeast and by Bangladesh to the south and southwest. Itinerary

  • Receive from Guwahati airport and transfer to Shillong – is a hill station in the northeastern part of India and the capital of Meghalaya, which means “The Abode of Clouds”, through lush green hills and the Umiam lake in between.Overnight stay at Shillong.

  • After breakfast proceed for full day Shillong sightseeing – visit Elephant Falls – 12 km on the outskirts of the city, the mountain stream descends through three successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks, Lady Hydari Park: The park stretches over a kilometre and has an adjacent mini zoo, Ward’s Lake: Known locally as Nan-Polok. It is an artificial lake with garden and boating facilities, built during the colonial era, Shillong Golf Course: Shillong has one of the largest natural golf courses in Asia: Gleneagles of the East. It enjoys the rare distinction of being one of the few natural golf courses in Asia. Not only is the Shillong Golf Course scenic and enjoyable, it is also challenging. Shillong Golf Course is considered to be the “Glen Eagle of the East” at the United States Golf Association Museum, Shillong Peak: A picnic spot, 10 km from the city, 1966 m above sea level, offers a panoramic view of the scenic countryside and is the highest point in the state, Visit jeep safari in the National Park for Wildlife viewing in the central zone.   • After breakfast day visit to Cherrapunji -high above misty valleys and foaming rivers, ensconced in swirling clouds and perched on an escarpment, lies Cherrapunji (4,500 feet). This is a stunning location and the year-round rain earned Cherrapunji coveted entry long ago into the Guinness Book of World Records as the wettest place on earth, the place where the rainfall can be recorded in feet rather than in millimeters. Appropriately, Cherrapunji lies in the heart of the State of Meghalaya-the abode of clouds. On arrival Cherrapunji visit Nohkalikai Falls – Tallest plunge waterfall in India which presents a sight to behold during monsoon, Mawsmai Cave – Offering a thrilling experience, the cave is a wonderful work of nature, The MawkdokDympep Valley View – A viewpoint offering astounding scenery of the surroundings, Eco Park – To witness beautiful blooming orchids, Seven Sisters Falls – Falling from a height of 1033 feet, the Seven Sisters Falls or the Nohsngithiang Falls are 70 meters wide, Thangkharang Park – Located on the edge of the cliff, the park overlooks the Kynrem Falls, Motrop or KhohRamhah – Cone-shaped rock formation which was once believed to be a giant’s basket. Later back to Shillong hotel. Overnight stay at Shillong.

After breakfast transfer to Kaziranga.Kaziranga located 184 KM from Shillong, covering an area of 430 sq-kms, is inhabited by the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. In 1985, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique natural environment. Upon arrival transfer to the resort. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

After an early wake up, you will be taken to the riding point for Kaziranga Elephant Safari in the Western Range. Watch the famous One-Horn Rhino within the jungle from stone throwing distance. After the elephant safari, return back to the Resort. After lunch, drive to Kaziranga Central Range for the Kaziranga Jeep Safari. The Central zone of the Kaziranga National Park is the prime zone for the ecotourism in the Kaziranga forest. The entry gate to the central zone is situated just about two km from the National Highway passing through the village of Kohora. The Kaziranga Jungle Safari offers you some spectacular sighting of the Rhinos grazing or wallowing in the large grassland, a herd of elephants with having the adorable baby elephants to big old elephants in the herd, and many other species of the wild flora and fauna of this tourism zone. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

After breakfast, drive to Guwahati. Guwahati is located 193 KM from Kaziranga National Park. On the way Visit The Tea Garden and Rubber Plantation. Overnight stay at Guwahati.

After early breakfast drop to Guwahati Airport for sweet home.
